REVIEW: Turkey & Stuffing Classic by Gobble & Grain

Welcome back, loyal readers. It’s Day Three, and the rhythm of December is already starting to feel like a sprint. The calendar is a patchwork of overlapping plans, and the inbox has taken on a kind of festive aggression. Every message arrives with urgency. Every invitation insists it’s the last chance to catch up before the year ends.

The drizzle hasn’t stopped. It’s not dramatic, just persistent — the kind that clings to your coat and seeps into your socks. It’s the kind of weather that makes you question every decision to leave the house. And yet, I did leave the house. I had to. Because the driveway was marked again.

I don’t know what’s doing it. I don’t know why it’s chosen my driveway. But every morning, without fail, there’s a deposit waiting. It’s not large. It’s not catastrophic. But it’s there. And it’s mine to deal with. I’ve stopped trying to solve the mystery. I just clean it up and move on. That’s December now: drizzle, diary, driveway.

Today’s sandwich is Gobble & Grain’s Turkey & Stuffing Classic.

Roast turkey, sage stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, white bloomer.

It arrives in a simple cardboard sleeve, the bloomer bread pale and soft, the filling pressed neatly inside. There’s something reassuring about it — no frills, no surprises, just the promise of festive comfort.

The first bite is exactly what you’d expect. The turkey is tender, sliced thin, with just enough chew to feel substantial. The stuffing is herby and savoury, slightly crumbly, and the cranberry sauce adds a sweet, sticky contrast. Mayonnaise smooths everything together, mellowing the sharper notes. The white bloomer is soft and slightly sweet, a neutral canvas for the flavours inside.

It’s not trying to be clever. It’s not trying to reinvent Christmas. It’s just a turkey sandwich, done well. And in a month that’s already trying to pull me in every direction, that feels like a gift.

I eat it at my desk, drizzle streaking the window, calendar tabs blinking, and the faint smell of disinfectant still lingering from the morning’s driveway ritual. The Turkey & Stuffing Classic doesn’t solve anything. But it doesn’t add to the chaos either. And that, on Day Three, is enough.
