REVIEW: Chicken and Christmas Slaw by Sainsbury’s

I’m in a face-to-face client meeting all day today and it would probably be strange if I took photos of a sandwich and spent time writing up a review of it, so have a review of this sandwich that I bought the other week when I was still deciding whether I can be bothered to do the blog or not this year. I bought it and ate in the 5 minute walk between Sainsbury’s and Borough tube station, clearly the ideal conditions for reviewing a meal. You can see the orange glow of Sainsbury’s reflected on my thumb.

Chicken breast with cooked red cabbage in red wine, gravy mayonnaise, black pepper mayonnaise and shredded carrot on malted bread

Two mayonnaises?! Now I’ve seen everything. I still hate the word slaw but it seems there is no escaping it. It may not be your traditional Christmas turkey sandwich, but this was actually a tasty sandwich. The crunchy cabbage and coleslaw combined well and tasted very fresh, but what made it was the gravy mayonnaise – it had an excellent gravy taste running all the way through it.

So there you go, a quick review for a Monday. See you at some point later this week.
